Healthy Steps

In an 8-week session, you will meet once a week with a support group and instructor to incorporate changes in the areas of health and wellness that are specific to you. Each week you will meet with other members in this 2-part program. Part 1 includes different modes of exercise to teach you new or improved ways of increasing your cardio, strength and flexibility levels. In part 2, you will set appropriate short-term goals to change lifestyle based on barriers to your wellness. Included is a complete fitness assessment. During the first week, you will be tested in areas of body composition, cardiovascular health, strength and flexibility. Over the next weeks you will learn how to set up an exercise plan tailored to your ability level as well as track your progress. You will then be retested at the end of the 8 weeks to see how far you have come! Come dressed to exercise (including appropriate footwear).

•Weekly group discussions
•Access to a Stanford developed online health assessment tool
•Supervised exercise program using both cardiovascular and strength equipment
•Program notebook, workout log etc.
