Center for Physical Therapy and Exercise physical therapists, athletic trainers, and exercise specialists will work in conjunction with the MERRIMACK Y’s Fitness and Wellness staff to provide valuable fitness and rehabilitation information and assessments to help members get healthy and stay healthy.

MARCH:
Concussions: A serious problem and how we as medical professionals, coaches, parents, and athletes are tackling this condition

We all understand the seriousness of concussions. CPTE’s rehab staff will discuss the value and importance of pre-concussion testing and present safe and practical strategies for helping an athlete return to competition.
Pre-concussion Testing
(3/10 9:00am-3:00pm) $5 to take test

CPTE will offer the ImPACT pre-concussion test along with the BESS Balance Assessment and Concussion Symptom Checklist to athletes ages 11-adult. The testing will take approximately 45 minutes per athlete and there will be a $5 fee to take the test. Pick up additional information and sign up for a test at the Welcome Center.
Injury Assessments FREE
(3/12 4:00-7:00pm or 3/17 9:00-12:00pm)

Balance Assessments FREE

Sports and Fitness Conditioning: Become the best athlete you can

Trainers and conditioning coaches are employing dynamic movements utilizing non-traditional, yet classic fitness equipment to help athletes improve performance and help the rest of us become more fit. Learn why fitness experts have moved in this direction and why it can help anyone, not just athletes, become more fit. CPTE’s conditioning coaches and the Y’s fitness staff will give you a chance to try some of the common equipment used including medicine balls, agility ladders, heavy ropes, super bands, TRXs, kettlebells, and more.
