Mike LaChance, CEO of the YMCA of Greater Nashua, was named as Business Person of the Year at Friday’s Ninth Annual Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce Eminence Awards luncheon. This annual event recognizes individuals and companies that represent and exemplify volunteerism and dedication to the success of the Chamber of Commerce, for the betterment of our business community and the community at large. The Business Person of the Year Award is presented to an individual who is responsible for significant contributions to their community and their industry over the past year.

LaChance was nominated, in part, for his leadership in the planning and building of the new Nashua Y facility located on Stadium Drive near Stellos Stadium and Conway Arena. According to Jay Maiona, Chief Volunteer Officer/Board Chair, for the YMCA of Greater Nashua, “Thanks to Mike’s hard work and determination, countless local individuals now and for generations to come will have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y and more importantly, lead longer, healthier lives. Under his leadership, Mike guided the community, Y Staff and Y Volunteers and a $10.5 million state-of-the-art Y was envisioned, built and opened in the City, which significantly impacts the Greater Nashua Community every day. Mike’s dedication to the Y day in and day out ensures that Nashua has a place for individuals and families to learn, be active, and connect with others.”
