The new Nashua Y will belong to everyone!

  • The Y welcomes people regardless of ability, income, age, or gender.
  • There are as many women members as there are men.
  • Nearly 9,000 participants are under the age of 18.
  • During the past 3 years, more than $1 million dollars from Y Cares Financial Assistance program helped needy families and individuals participate in Y programs.
  • Last year, 941 participants were 65 years of age or older.
  • Y programs meet diverse needs - from child care, senior activities, after school care, wellness, home school support, to athletics such as swimming, basketball, tennis, and more.
  • The Y has over 325 different programs and services
  • The Y supports people throughout life - baby/parents, pre-school, school age, teen, adult and senior.
  • The Y offers child care, afterschool care, and a wide variety of senior health and fitness programs. Every single program is aligned to the Y values of respect, responsibility, caring and honesty.

A new Y improves the community.

  • The Y has been part of Nashua's heritage for 122 years.
  • The Y was formed in 1887 when a group of Nashua churches came together to improve fellowship and education in the community.
  • The first building was constructed on Temple St. in 1912.
  • The Prospect St. facility has been a home away from home for many in the community since 1964.
  • Nashua is recognized as one of the best communities to live, in part, because of strong organizations like the Y.
  • Money Magazine has twice recognized Nashua as one of the best places to live in the US.
  • A new Y facility is aligned to Nashua's master plan to have strong community facilities, health resources, and the ability to attract new employers.
  • The Y serves as a community hub of activities and programs that support families, health and wellness.
  • Over 23,000 people in the local area participate in the Y.
  • The new Y is expected to serve an additional 4,500 participants from every walk of life.
  • The Y partners with over 40 school districts, non-profits, military branches, organizations and others, to enrich the overall quality of the area.
  • The Y employs over 200 people and has engaged hundreds as volunteers.
  • The Y supports families - the backbone of any community - through diverse and affordable programs. No family is left out.

Among the goals of the new Nashua YMCA are to...

  • Increase the number of children, adults and seniors served specifically at the Nashua YMCA by 50% to over 13,500 area residents.
  • Further assist individuals in improving their health and wellness and places for children and youth to be safe, active and develop important life skills.
  • Create an environment where individuals and families can thrive in mind, body and spirit.
